Challenges Running a Home Business

When we had an office, it was up 36 stairs and not many massage clients would dare venture up such a height with aches and pains, especially through such narrow front doors. So, after 6 months or so, of renting a space with no clients in sight, I closed the office. It felt like a waste of money, but that's what happens when you try. Sometimes it works out, sometimes it doesn't.

So lesson learned, a single story or ground level small space that's affordable when we have a decent client venture, is our future goal! :)

Challenge today: while making jewelry at home and giving a few clients a scheduled massage, I have to find something for my two hyper little ones to do. Babysitting takes care of the times for massage clients, and the times I do other odd jobs such as house cleaning. But, making jewelry with children in the house is like having a small swarm of bees buzzing my ears while trying to focus on artwork. Small hands are grabbing for beads, wire, hammers, pliers, and handing me toys instead of what I ask for.

Jewelry production isn't at the level where I'd like it to be, I just need more quiet time. But it's still going decently.

God willing, we will be a great small family business making an income to obtain an office of our own and able to pay the bills too!
