Slowly Acquiring More Tools

As a team, my husband and I decided that if we did open a small business, it would not require us going into debt. We are plenty in debt with College loans, and the main point of the small business was to earn money through our handmade crafts to help pay for the college loans. Another reason for a small business is time to invest together on projects that are tangible instead of 3D images on the computer. At this time we make small improvements each month, with our Dave Ramsey budget of $50 for us a month. We like reusing many resources, reusing tools that were sitting around, waiting for birthdays, tax time, etc. to buy supplies a little bit at a time.
Over the years, since we began in 2012, we have sold decorative birdhouses, recycled chunk candles, soy wax candles, mixed wax candles, wax string jewelry, nylon cord to leather cord jewelry, and wire wrapped jewelry. We have improved quite a bit but there is still much to go. We hope that by advertising on some websites and being found in google search engines we will be able to gain customers and make sales.
Honesty is our biggest policy. Many 'offers' have been made through email, text, calls, and such but those seemed far too shady to be true. As usual, we are subject to a slew of squirrely offers like any business that puts their info out there. There are always wolves in the shadows.
More improvements to come are gift wrapping ideas! We have a few paper folding ideas for jewelry gift boxes and box wrapping ideas for "Him" and "Her" gifts. We are also looking to slowly improve our Home Decorative inventory with more coat racks and maybe a few new item ideas.
Hope we do well and enjoy what we like to do! Someday it may blossom into a full-time business with great income.
Hopeful for the future and your business!
